TOWN OF ALMOND, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — The suspect in the a fatal shooting in Portage County over the weekend is now being held on at $1 million bond.
Authorities believe that 31-year-old Stevens Breneman shot and killed 45-year-old Donald Brewer outside of his own in the Town of Almond.
Portage County Sheriff Mike Lukas shared a possible motive with News 9 WAOW.
“It appears that it was sparked over a marital infidelity, but again, it’s in the pre-investigation,” said Lukas. “So, its ongoing yet.”
Lukas also tells News 9 WAOW that there were witnesses to the shooting.
He said, “The shooting was witnessed by a 14 and a 12-year-old, Mr. Brewer’s children.”
Breneman will make another appearance in court later this month.
There was an autopsy completed on Brewer’s body on Monday as well.
